Timing with Forex

Now that the markets have pulled back in the hedging system we do this is probably a good time to get into the markets if you are trading live. News Release:

Greenpeace congratulates the government of France on precautionary banning of GMO cultivation

26 October 2007 (Vancouver) – Greenpeace today congratulated the French government on the announcement by President Nicolas Sarkozy that France would indefinitely suspend cultivation of GMO corn. In his statement ending a high-profile, two-day summit on the environment, Sarkozy cited doubts about the safety of GMOs, their usefulness, and concerns about uncontrolled dissemination.

Sarkozy ended the summit with a declaration on several major themes addressed there, including GMOs and the precautionary principle: “The truth is that we have doubts about the ability to control the dissemination of GMOs; the truth is that we have doubts about the health and environmental benefits of GMOs. . . Respecting the precautionary principle, I wish to suspend the commercial cultivation of GMOs that produce pesticides.”

The French ban will remain in place until a new national authority can be established to review GMOs, based on new criteria to be developed.

Monsanto’s genetically engineered corn variety, MON810, which produces the Bt pesticide, is the only GMO currently cultivated in Europe and would be the variety subject to the French ban. It is estimated that over 30,000 acres of GE maize were grown in France in 2007.

"Greenpeace is delighted that the French government has taken sound environmental arguments into account and banned the cultivation of ecologically hazardous genetically engineered (GE) crops. President Sarkozy’s announcement today is a victory for French consumers, farmers, and the environment. Greenpeace urges all government to follow the initiative of the French and protect their citizens and the environment from the threats of GE,” commented Greenpeace International agriculture campaigner, Doreen Stabinsky.

In Canada, Monsanto’s corn variety MON810 has been authorized for use since 1997. Genetically modfied corn covers 820,000 hectares and represents about 50 per cent of all corn cultivated.

"While the French government has taken action in the interests of its citizens, Canada has failed to ratify the international protocol on biosafety or introduce mandatory labelling of GMO products,” said Josh Brandon, an agriculture campaigner with Greenpeace Canada..

Courts Taking Your Inheritance

Here is an interesting article by Charles Arthur, one of my list members. You can find a link to his new book on the left menu under Offshore Matters.

Inheritance Scam

Passing wealth to your Beneficiaries is tricky business. With much to know, and no training, most parents or grandparents make decisions based on limited information. For example, using a Living Trust to leave your meager or substantial goods to your children avoids probate. What does that mean, exactly? Getting into the legal jargon of probate brings up another word: Intestate? What is that? Are you lost already? I have only just begun.

If you die without a Will, you have died “intestate.” Your assets are up for grabs and a Probate Court decides who gets your “stuff.” The court gets a chunk of the estate’s value through fees for this service. Avoid dying intestate if there is anyone in your life who may benefit from receiving your wealth, even if it is, by your standards, not much.

Wills and Probate

If you take the time to write a Will with instructions about what heirs get your worldly goods, finances and property in your name at death still must be reviewed by a judge. He or she issues an order approving those entrusted with your goods to release them to named Beneficiaries. This is costly. Your lawyer and the courts get their share before heirs get theirs. Using a Will, though, removes confusion about who gets your assets, even if it takes three to five years for heirs to benefit from your Will.

You can also set up a Testamentary Trust in your Will. After you die, this puts all your assets into a Trust for your heirs, with instructions to Trustees about distribution and wealth management. Either the court names these Trustees, or you do. The Probate Court takes it cut for this service. If it chooses the Trustee, you gamble with the funds left to your Beneficiaries. A stranger has less interest in their welfare than a person you trust.

Living Trust and Forget-me-nots

The basic inheritance tactic is to avoid Probate Court by creating a Trust while you are alive. This is most often done through a Living Trust, where you keep control of all your assets until you die. When you die, this setup allows your chosen representative to get the money and deliver it to named Beneficiaries without going through Probate Court. This “successor” has co-signed on all Trust documents and the financial accounts. This means you give him or her the authority to write the checks and transfer real estate before you leave this existence. Your representative is the Successor Trustee while you are alive, and then becomes the Trustee. This works just fine only IF your Beneficiaries agree with how you setup your estate. If one Beneficiary challenges your Trust, all your assets, investments and cash become subject to probate anyway.

This most basic Trust has troubles. All of them due to lack of information. For example, the Trust accounting for this Living Trust must be kept separate from personal accounting. Since the cash can be used by the Trustee or Trustees, usually the parents, it becomes the Trustee’s personal pile to spend. Hardly anyone realizes that setting up a Living Trust earmarks the assets for the Beneficiaries, and the Trustees MUST keep accurate accounting records. After the Successor Trustee becomes the Trustee, he or she is legally responsible to the Beneficiaries to produce these records if the Beneficiaries want to see them.

Because often mom and pop have no idea that creating the Living Trust limits their ability to give assets away, they continue to live their lives spending to their hearts content. Their contingent Beneficiaries, the ones who get what is left, await their passing to get the house, car and anything else. Meanwhile, these uneducated Trustees (your parents), having reached old-age forgot they named you as their heir.

Unfortunately this is a common problem. Fearing the care giver will abandon them in their last hours, these Trustees bribe this aid by giving away your inheritance to him or her—this includes the house, the car, and the savings account. This reality is so rampant that new probate laws past last year limit what care givers can get.

Now the Trustees of this Living Trust pass, and you fight to get these assets, given as bribes, returned. The good news is you can prove they are yours because you are the named Beneficiary. The bad news is the assets in the Trust go to pay the legal fees, and so when you reclaim the precious “stuff”, the cost may be more than the asset’s value.

Limited Wealth Building

Make no mistake, this valuable missing information is deliberate. By limiting your ability to build wealth, the little piles of assets gathered in your family are washed away by thoughtless spending, court fees, old-age forgetfulness, as well as internal family squabbles. It takes training, and substantial education to pass on wealth—a fact most people have hardly considered.

The next step up is a Revocable Trust, it performs much like a Living Trust where you keep control until you die. Use a Revocable Trust when complex investments and real estate require serious attention. Often, an Independent Trustee is employed. At any time, though, the Trust Settlor, the one setting up the Trust, can change his or her mind, revoke the Trust or fire the Trustee.

The Trick of Taxes

Up to this point, those people setting up a Will, or a Revocable Trust are taxed on the earnings of the Trust. In the Living Trust, these earnings can include working for others. Depositing one’s paycheck into the Trust checking account identifies these funds for the Beneficiaries, even if the Trustee (mom or pop) spends the money.

The next Trust category is Irrevocable. Assets, funds, investments are transferred into a Trust with usually two Trustees. They manage the wealth under the name of the Trust for the Beneficiaries, and the Trust pays the taxes. The Settlor’s name is not on any financial records. If created with well thought out plans, the Irrevocable Trust gives the family its best advantage. It can also bring you face-to-face with the major financial power games of our planet. Those who control wealth discourage passing it on.

King of the Mountain

Children often play a game titled King of the Mountain. Find a mound of dirt somewhere, and there is a scramble to see who can get on top first. Once there, the bully pushes the rest down. This “reigning ruler” becomes nearly impossible to dislodge.Irrevocable Trusts are divided into two types. The first one is Statutory, the second one Private. It is the later where the power games are put in place to rule this world.

True wealth rolls forward generation after generation. Each one adds to the stockpile of cash, assets, and power. Only a particular irrevocable setup holds this level of wealth, for it must create substantial agreement among Beneficiaries who have a vested interest in keeping the game going. The design of the Statutory Trust usually ends it after three generations, while the Private Trust, operating via renewable contracts, can continue its wealth building tactics for hundreds of years.

This article cannot go into the depth of these inheritance setups, but clues you into the vast amount of information you might be missing. When setting up a Will or a Revocable Trust, you would be smart to incorporate long-range tactics used in Irrevocable Trusts to setup your family for generations._____________________________

Now, a Massive Pesticide-Resistant Fungus is Threatening Worldwide Wheat Crops and About to Send Prices to Record Highs.

A massive pesticide-resistant fungus known as “wheat rust Ug99,” is threatening billions of dollars of wheat crops in Asia. This fungus, which is named for the place and date of its first discovery (Uganda in 1999), has spread across East Africa and the Middle East and is now threatening wheat crops in Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and India with chilling implications.

So far NO cure has been found to kill this fungus!

The last outbreak of stem rust in North America in 1954 wiped out 40% of the region’s wheat crop, sending food prices through the roof.

The fungus is destroying wheat harvests at a time when the world’s supply of wheat is already stressed to the breaking point. The consumption of wheat has outstripped the available supply during six of the past seven years.

The increased demand for crop-based fuels is forcing prices of wheat, corn and other grains higher as well. This latest need for these types of alternative energy sources is putting pressure on food prices throughout the world and unleashing a unique source of inflationary pressure.
Global grain supplies are at their lowest level in more than three decades and some experts fear the situation could get worse if more crops are set aside to make ethanol or other forms of alternative energy.

A major crisis is about to unfold.

The warning signs are everywhere:

On August 31 wheat futures in Chicago hit a record high on track for the biggest monthly gain in 34 years!Skyrocketing demand from South Korea and India reduced inventories to dangerously low levels.

Prices for the grain have doubled in the past year as poor weather in Australia, parts of Canada, Europe, and the Ukraine, damaged cropsAccording to the U.S, Department of Agriculture, global stockpiles of wheat have fallen to the lowest level in 26 years.Furthermore, China’s growing demand for food products has quadrupled over the past five years, and continues to rise today. In fact China and India are coming dangerously close to a situation where nothing short of a miracle harvest will be enough to meet their needs and prevent additional increases in already surging food prices.

Fueled by rapid economic growth, China and India, as well as scores of other emerging economies, expect to see food prices soar even higher in the coming year.

I wasn't sure if they were talking about the King of England or someone we know here in modern times.

This document has inspired people in the US and around the world to take action against tyranny. As a student of political science I still see this document as a beautiful and moving document that everyone who values life, liberty, peace, social justice, and the pursuit of happiness in the spirit of harmlessness should read at least once if not regularly.

Morgan Freeman: Picture this. A group of politicians from the thirteen American colonies come together in this building, right here. To plot what turns out to be a revolution. A contentious continental Congress needs to set forth some convincing reasons for declaring war. Congress turns to a brilliant 33-year old aristocrat from Virginia, Thomas Jefferson. In a matter of days, the red-haired wonder writes one of the most celebrated manifestos for human freedom and self-government in the history of western civilization. The continental Congress authorizes Philadelphia printer John Dunlap to print 200 broadsides, poster-sized sheets. The document, unsigned, is then rushed to waiting horsemen who put it in their saddlebags and gallop throughout the colonies. See if this Revolutionary War is to be won, thousands of farmers and tradesmen must be persuaded to take up arms and fight. And they do. Not many people realize it today but scholars believe Jefferson intended for the Declaration to be performed and not just read. Its words and rhythms were written to be spoken in proud and defiant tones in grand, public places. It's a safe bet that the continental Congress never had in mind a performer like me. That is to say, a black man. Thomas Jefferson was not ignorant of the problem of slavery of course. He called it a moral and political depravity. And the original draft of the Declaration denounced the slave trade as a cruel war against human nature itself. But Congress thought better of this particular item, and deleted it. In fact, there is no mention of slavery or black people or of women for even that matter in this preeminent statement on the equal rights of man. So it makes you wonder, how could a man who himself held slaves write with such incredible passion and eloquence about human liberation and the promise of a democratic republic. Why some may ask, do I bring up such embarrassing truths on this glorious occasion? I answer, the real glory of the Declaration of Independence has been our nation's epic struggle throughout history to close the gap between the ideals of this remarkable document and the sometimes painful realities of American life. The Declaration symbolizes the birth of our nation of course, but also the constant struggle to achieve its ideals. Consider: the words of this document inspired the French Revolution of 1789. Two hundred years later, the revolt of Chinese students in Tiananmen Square. It inspired Abraham Lincoln to issue the Emancipation Proclamation. Martin Luther King Jr. to fight for civil rights, and women's suffragettes to fight for the vote. This business of fulfilling the Declaration of Independence is a difficult struggle. But it is also an ennobling struggle. Jefferson called the Declaration an expression of the American mind. It is why this nation is so great, and why I am so proud to be an American. Here now, are those sentiments, as first expressed, in this very place.

Mel Gibson: When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them,

Michael Douglas: a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

Kathy Bates: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Kevin Spacey: That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government,

Whoopi Goldberg: laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.

Ed Norton: Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes,

Renée Zellweger: and accordingly all experience hath shown, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.

Ming-Na: But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.

Winona Ryder: Such has been the patient sufferance of these colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former systems of government.

Benicio Del Toro: The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over these States.

ALL: To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world.

RZ: He has refused his assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

MG: He has forbidden his governors to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

KS: He has refused to pass other laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of representation in the legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable only to tyrants

WG: He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

EN: He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

MD: He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the legislative powers, incapable of annihilation, have returned to the people at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the meantime exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.

KB: He has endeavored to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new appropriations of lands.

WR: He has obstructed the administration of justice, by refusing his assent to laws for establishing judiciary powers.

BD: He has made judges dependent on his will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

EN: He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.

MN: He has kept among us, in times of peace, standing armies without the consent of our legislatures.

WR: He has affected to render the military independent of and superior to the civil power.

RZ: He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his assent to their acts of pretended legislation:

KS: For protecting them, by a mock trial, from punishment for any murders which they should commit on the inhabitants of these States:

WG: For cutting off our trade with all parts of the world, for imposing taxes on us without our consent,

KB: For taking away our charters, abolishing our most valuable laws, and altering fundamentally the forms of our governments:

KS: For suspending our own legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.

Kansas City, MO (Zogby International) September 6, 2007 - As America nears the sixth anniversary of the world-churning events of September 11, 2001, a new Zogby International poll finds a majority of Americans still await a Congressional investigation of President Bush' and Vice President Cheney's actions before, during and after the 9/11 attacks. Over 30% also believe Bush and/or Cheney should be immediately impeached by the House of Representatives.

The 911truth.org-sponsored poll also found that over two-thirds of Americans say the 9/11 Commission should have investigated the still unexplained collapse of the 47-story World Trade Center Building 7 at 5:20 p.m. on September 11, 2001.

WTC 7 housed the mayor's emergency bunker and offices of the SEC, IRS, CIA and Secret Service and was not hit by any planes but still completely collapsed into its own footprint nearly eight hours after the Twin Tower attacks. FEMA did not explain this collapse, the 911 Commission ignored it, and the promised official study by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is now 2 years overdue.

Janice Matthews, executive director of poll sponsor 911truth.org, observes: "The response to this question signals an increasing public concern with questions about this remarkable event -- up from 38% last year. We can perhaps credit this rising awareness to the millions who have recently witnessed videos or Youtube clips of this skyscraper's descent and the outspoken demands for a new WTC inquiry from over 150 architects and engineering professionals, including NIST's own former Fire Science Division Chief, Dr. James Quintiere. Another contributory factor is the increased questioning among Hispanics, Blacks and Asians whose responses appear significantly more critical of the 9/11 Commission than Whites, sometimes twice as critical."

We hope more of our representatives find the spine to respond to this escalating dissatisfaction with the dubious accounting we have received thus far."

9/11 Anniversary Message

Today marks the day when TWO WTC buildings were hit by airliners and THREE WTC buildings dropped to the ground at free fall speed. These were the first steel buildings in history to fall due to a fire. All happened on the same day. One was not hit by an airliner and had only two small fires burning.

I would remind you that, as a Canadian living in Japan most of the last 22 years, I do not see 9/11 as a tragedy for just the USA. Many people lost on this day were Canadians, Americans, Irish, Israelis, Japanese, Chinese, and many more. Moreover, the effect this has had on international relations will likely reverberate for years to come and may even be putting much of the world's population in peril while we allow private interests and shareholder interests to dictate public policy around the world.

Oddly there seems to be no mention in the official version of the 3rd WTC building that went down on the same day.

Police Infiltrate Peaceful Protest in Canada

Canadian police were caught red-handed attempting to use under cover police officers at the SPP meeting in Montebello Quebec last Thursday in order to provide the pretext for a violent police reaction against peaceful demostrators.

Such a police reaction would have caused grievious bodily harm (as has happened at demonstrations in the past). The police and the politicians who instruct them were attempting to deprive Canadians of their constitutional right to protest and assemble. This is the beginnings of a police state in Canada.

Councilmen From Japanese Whaling Town Break Code of Silence

TAIJI, Japan, August 30, 2007 (ENS) -

Two town council members from the whaling town of Taiji have come out publicly against the feeding of dolphin meat contaminated with mercury to children in Japan?s school lunch programs. It is the first time that Japanese elected officials have broken the unwritten rule against criticizing whaling and the consumption of whale meat that prevails across the country.
Independents Junichiro Yamashita and Hisato Ryono will be holding a news conference on Monday to announce laboratory test results of samples taken from dolphin meat purchased at local supermarkets. The meat was found to contain over 10 times the government's limit for both mercury and methyl mercury.

The news conference comes as the annual dolphin drive hunt begins in Taiji. Conservationists around the world oppose the hunt, the largest kill of dolphins anywhere in the world, which takes place over six months beginning in September.

The assemblymen described the dolphin meat as "toxic waste" and are attempting to persuade other elected officials in Taiji and surrounding towns to take it off school lunch menus.
Although the supermarkets immediately removed dolphin meat from their shelves after they were informed of the test results, the town of Taiji is moving ahead with plans to build a new dolphin processing facility while expanding the dolphin meat lunch programs to surrounding school districts, says Ric O'Barry of the advocacy group Save Japan Dolphins.

A former trainer of dolphin TV star Flipper, O'Barry is an American who travels to Taiji to oppose the annual dolphin hunt.

O'Barry is attempting to draw the attention of the Japanese media to the efforts of Yamashita and Ryono to stop the feeding of mercury-laced dolphin meat to children at school, but he says "the complete stonewalling by Japanese government agencies and the media on the issue now prompts Yamashita to bring his case to the attention of the foreign press."

A notice of Yamashita's news conference is listed on the website of the Foreign Correspondents Club of Japan.

One Japanese newspaper has published an article about Yamashita and Ryono's lab tests. On August 1, the "Japan Times" ran an article quoting Yamashita as saying the two council members at first did not believe the reports of contaminated meat, which came from western conservation organizations.

"We tested some samples purchased at the Gyoko supermarket in Taiji and Super Center Okuwa in the nearby city of Shingu," Yamashita said. The councilmen were "shocked" by the results.

(Photo courtesy Sea Shepherd Conservation Society) "One dolphin sample had a mercury content 10 times above the health ministry?s advisory level of 0.4 parts per million, with a methylmercury readout 10.33 times over the ministry?s own advisory level of 0.3 ppm," the article states.

"Another dolphin sample tested 15.97 times and 12 times above advisory levels of total mercury and methylmercury, respectively."

The nervous system is very sensitive to all forms of mercury. Methylmercury and metallic mercury vapors are more harmful than other forms, because more mercury in these forms reaches the brain.

Exposure to high levels of metallic, inorganic, or organic mercury can permanently damage the brain, kidneys, and developing fetus. Children poisoned by mercury may develop problems of their nervous and digestive systems, and kidney damage. Effects on brain functioning may result in irritability, shyness, tremors, changes in vision or hearing, and memory problems.
Mercury poisoning received worldwide attention during the 1950s when hundreds died and thousands more were injured in the city of Minamata, Japan after a corporation polluted the waters of Minamata Bay with mercury compounds. Local residents who ate fish from the bay were poisoned.

Many governments now issue health bulletins advising pregnant women and children to avoid eating fish known to contain high levels of mercury.

At Taiji, dolphins are hunted for meat and also captured live for sale to marine parks and aquariums, fetching much higher prices for the Taiji fishers than dolphins killed for meat.

The activists are moved by the cries of the dolphin mothers with newborn calves "who call out in distress as they are separated in the most brutal ways imaginable," said a coalition of In Defense of Animals, the International Marine Mammal Project of Earth Island Institute and One Voice - France in a joint statement during the 2005 hunt.

"They are driven onto Japanese beaches and bays, stabbed with spears and knives, then left to slowly bleed to death literally turning the sea red while others drown entangled in nets. Some of the dolphins are taken alive, pulled out of the water by ropes tied around their tails to be sold to marine parks," the groups said in a joint statement.

The Fisheries Agency of Japan is going to add Pacific white-sided dolphins to the catch quota of the Taiji drive fishery for the 2007 hunting season, saying that there has been "a strong request from fishers in recent years to allow their capture."

The Elsa Nature Conservancy, a Japanese organization, strongly objects to this broadening of the hunt, and contends that the request to capture Pacific white-sided dolphins comes not from fishers but from aquariums.

In a November 27, 2006 letter of protest to the Fishery Agency, Conservancy president Eiji Fujiwara writes, "An internal communication sent by the Japan Cetacean Conference on Zoological Gardens and Aquariums on August 16, 2006 to the directors of zoos and aquariums which are members of the Cetacean Conference notes that Pacific white-sided dolphins are hard to obtain, and that not all aquarium directors who desire to obtain them have done so."
Fujiwara objects that the Taiji Whale Museum buys the live dolphins and turns around and "sells them to China and other countries for prices about seven times the initial purchase price under the pretext of 'scientific purposes.'

This is none other than "dolphin flipping," writes Fujiwara, pointing out that "there is even strong opposition to it from among local citizens and town council members."

"It is anticipated that if the capture of Pacific white-sided dolphins is permitted, it will further increase this "dolphin flipping" under the pretext of "scientific exchanges," he writes.

The people who are cured however make the claims and show the evidence which is then interpreted often as a threat to the power base of the conventional medical system.

Thankfully we, as a society, are becoming more open to complementary medicine and should see many positive changes in the future in this regard.

I've Heard of "Know Your Customer" Rules,
But This is Ridiculous!

Dear A-Letter Reader,

I walked into a local branch of Citibank last week along with a business partner. The office was nothing spectacular - just another Florida strip mall with a Citibank sign. I was there to open a simple business bank account for a new wealth consulting firm I've founded.

Let me tell you, I've opened my fair share of bank accounts, in the U.S. and abroad. So I was confident that we had all the necessary documents - tax ID number, corporate articles of incorporation, photo IDs, proof of address, etc. Plus, we had a check to fund the account on the spot. Sounds good, right? Well, not exactly.

The "Banking Relationship" Associate that we met with was cordial - he seemed like a respectable guy. He told us that Citibank wanted to help us with our business needs. But, that was before our conversation got underway.

Attacked By Questions
Of course, I wasn't shocked when he asked the nature of our business - a bank needs to know if we're bakers, painters or real estate agents. But when we told him that we were private wealth consultants, it threw him for a loop. We explained that the firm's primary objective is to create international financial wealth plans for individuals...and that's when the questions started. Here's a quick run down:

Would the firm be registered with the SEC? Do you give investment advice? If you don't, who does? How many clients will the firm accept? What did we mean when we said "international?" Did we have a business plan statement that the Citibank Compliance Department could review? How about client contracts - the Compliance Department needs to review those as well. Also, can you furnish invoices between you and your clients - preferably at least three - that will show us the source of the money?

Of course, this was just the tip of the bureaucratic iceberg. He wanted to know if international wires would be sent to and from the account. "It's a possibility," we told him. He let us know that international wires are a "red flag," which we immediately questioned.

Mr. Associate kindly told us that as one of the largest banks, Citibank was under the microscope and closely scrutinized by the government. They have to be extra careful. While the "other" regional banks, like Sun Trust, could easily help us, Citibank had to go the extra mile to cover their behinds. They were, in Mr. Associate's words, "a target." I began to see a bull's eye growing on his forehead. Was he beginning to perspire?

With many years of international financial experience between my partner and I, we assured Mr. Associate that we knew all about the "Know Your Customer" rules, but we thought this was going a bit too far. But, there was more.

More Hoops to Jump Through
Should the average amount in the account vary by a certain percentage on a given month, the account would be frozen automatically by the bank. They'd need to know why our firm was "suddenly" depositing more funds. We explained that an increase in funds would mean we had taken on new clients, which would be great news to any firm. But apparently not to Citibank. Make more money and suddenly you're a crook.

Mr. Associate again let us know that he was sure a less prestigious regional bank, like Sun Trust, would welcome our business...without all the limits, the questions. But, it would come without the sterling Citibank worldwide reputation. Mr. Associate assured us that when our clients saw that we banked with Citibank, they'd know we were truly legitimate.

Hmm, I am pretty sure that advertising the bank you use has never resulted in more business, better clients or more reputable partners. But Mr. Associate certainly thought it would.

We thanked the gentleman for his time and left without opening the account. But, the meeting was not a waste of time because he had given us some good advice. We went to a local branch of Sun Trust. With our ample documentation, we had the account approved, opened and funded in less than 30 minutes. The Sun Trust representative even wished us good luck with our new venture!

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.

3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumours.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7. Radiation, while destroying cancer cells, also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

WHAT CANCER CELLS FEED ON

a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal,Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk cancer cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrified and leads to more toxic buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-essence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body's own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.

15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.
16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

CANCER UPDATE FROM JOHN HOPKINS HOSPITAL

1. No plastic containers in micro.
2. No water bottles in freezer.
3. No plastic wrap in microwave.

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well.

Dioxin chemicals causes cancer, especially breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic.

Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital , was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body.

Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper. It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc.

He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.
