Normally, I don't send out messages about political issues. But, this particular chain of events could lead to a WW-III kind of scenario and it is important that word gets out to everyone in order to change the dialogue and NOT let the puppet masters dominate the dialogue. The more people who demonstrate that they are wise to their machinations the more cautious they might be in executing some of their plans. 

 

If US goes into Syria it could unleash a worldwide conflict that would likely even spread over to Asia and even involve Japan here where I live. Some believe Japan will remain neutral. But, that is hard having several US military bases on its soil.

 

The attack would likely cause a response from Iran, Russia, and China. The response could be military and the Russians have already moved ships into the region. China is watching closely and warning the US to tread carefully.

Another news source confirms Russia's stance regarding Syria. 

With talk of intervention growing in Washington and other Western capitals, the Russian newspaper Izvestia has published a rare interview with Bashar al-Assad, in which the Syrian president seems to be looking to shore up his support from his most powerful international ally:

You may be wondering, like many Russians, why Russia continues to stand by Syria.  It is important to explain this reason to the general public: Russia is not defending President Bashar al-Assad or the Syrian government, since the Syrian people should decide their president and the most suitable political system—this is not the issue. Russia is defending the fundamental principles it has embraced for more than a hundred years, the first of which is independence and the policy of non-interference in internal affairs.  Russia itself has suffered and continues to suffer from such interference.   SOURCE LINK

I don't think Russia has been a shining light supporting independence and non-interference, however.

 

But, this is the line they are taking.

 

I mean, wasn't it Russia, at the center of the Soviet Union and the Communists, that went on an extermination rampage that took out 30-60 million people, mostly white Russians, by murder and starvation? They had an agenda, complete global domination. Note, that their plan is presently unfolding quite nicely.

THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX

One thing I have learned from living in Japan since 1985 is that human beings are much the same all over the world. We share much of the same dreams, aspirations, fears, and hopes. However, all of this is 'programmed' into us. The 'Japanese software' and the 'Canadian software' and the 'American software' are all quite different programmes. The 'bio-computers' also come in various shapes and sizes. The 'consciousness', let's call it the electricity that keeps all of us 'bio-computers' going is, however, universal. Electricity is electricity, 'Qi is Qi', consciousness is consciousness. What we call MIND is the programme and for aeons we have been programmed to be...well...worker robots. 

Thinking out of the box requires us to first recognize our programming and begin to connect with 'consciousness' in order to change that programming to better ourselves, the world, and our overall contribution to the collective 'programme'. As long as there are bio-computers there will be programmers. The question is...who is doing the programming? Your TV? Ever wonder why the call it TV 'Programming'!? 

Whose programme are you playing out? Your parents programme? Your teacher's programme? Your religion's programme? Your political leader's programme? Your friend's programme? My programme? Or YOUR programme? Who designed YOUR software?

And for what purpose? 

Was it to be a slave to the banking cabals of the world? Was it to be a slave to your job? Was it to be a slave to your country or flag? Was it to be a slave of ideology or religion? Were you really born to be a suicide bomber, Kamikaze, leftist, anarchist, or right wing ideologue? 

Were you born to hate people of other cultures, skin colours, and ways of thinking? Were you born to always live in fear, hopelessness, greed, and slavery to your programme? 

These are all questions we can ask when we are wanting to live a life 'thinking out of the box' or 'thinking outside the programme'. 

Once you realize that you are programmed you have taken the first important step to waking up.

Albert Einstein said, “You cannot solve a problem from the same consciousness that created it. You must learn to see the world anew.”

 

Another way to phrase this is, 'You cannot change the programme at the level of the programme. You have to step outside the programme, outside the box, and view your programme from the level of pure consciousness.'

Then you will be able to increasingly 'think outside the box'. 

On September 3rd and 4th a slow moving typhoon hovered over Kumano and compounded with Kumano's own cloud cover to produce record breaking torrential rainfall. Parts of the region received the equivalent of 6 months to 1 years worth of normal rainfall producing devastation never before experience. One newspaper said it was once every 20,000 years kind of event.

Kumano normally is famous for having heavy rainfall. But, no one has ever seen anything like this before. Entire valleys became like huge lakes. The torrential rains caused a major ‘mountain tsunami’ and much devastation and loss of life. Many homes and shops were simply washed away with some people barely escaping with their lives. Roads were washed out in 56 places locally and many other local towns were hit badly as well.

Thankfully, most people could find safety. But, some unfortunately a few, mostly elderly, did not. At this time we have confirmed 13 fatalities and 1 missing person in Shingu. The damage to public roads and private property was immense. Many people lost their homes and all their belongings some without sufficient disaster insurance. So, they must rely on community support and the generosity of their friends and neighbours, and people like you!

CIA Asset Susan Lindauer, cousin to Andy Card President Bush's Chief of Staff, blows the whistle on 9/11, Iraq

Susan Lindauer, author of Extreme Prejudice, is the first CIA asset to have spoken out, under her own name and for the record, on Israeli complicity in 9/11, the controlled demolition of the World Trade Center, and the specific, detailed foreknowledge of the time, target, and means of the 9/11 attacks held throughout the months prior to 9/11 by the CIA in general and Lindauer’s CIA handler, Richard Fuisz, in particular. She has also exposed her first-hand knowledge of pre-war intelligence and negotiations showing that Iraq was willing to give the US “anything it asked” and that the war was therefore–from the perspective of US interests–not only utterly unnecessary, but wildly counterproductive. Lindauer’s evidence points strongly to 9/11 being a coup d’etat by hard-line Zionists determined to steer the US into a self-destructive war on Israel’s enemies.

Barrett
I understand that you had some 9/11 foreknowledge, but were actually busted for trying to explain to the Bush Administration through your cousin Andrew Card, that invading Iraq was insane, that the Iraqis were basically going to do anything we wanted anyway–they’ll agree to anything for peace–and that there would be a terrible resistance and a terrible war if there was an invasion. And for that very accurate and prescient warning, they went after you.

Lindauer
Well, you have a very good grasp of this issue, I will tell you. It is a complicated story. I was one of the very few (CIA) assets covering Iraq before the war. And I had established contact with the Iraqi embassy at the United Nations in New York back in August of 1996. And for seven years before the invasion, I was what they call a “back channel” to Iraq on the question of terrorism. That was my foremost priority. This was covert in the sense that it was covert to the West. But the Iraqis were fully informed as to who I was and what I was doing and what my purpose was. My motivation was that I hated the United Nations sanctions. I hated the genocidal consequences and suffering for the Iraqi people, most truly and genuinely–that was very sincere. And they knew it. And both sides knew my politics. In fact, the CIA had come to me knowing my politics and said “hey, why don’t you try to help us.” They co-opted me–they did–but I agreed to be co-opted. We all understood each other. And that’s very important for what happened.

Barrett
That’s not necessarily a bad thing. There is a role for people who are intermediaries between warring parties and who try to make peace. And it sounds like that’s what you were doing.

Lindauer
Yes indeed. And both sides understood my politics, that I wanted to help end the sanctions. And the CIA was very adamant that Iraq had to meet certain criteria in order for that to happen. And my contribution from the very first days was on terrorism. Our team started what we called preliminary talks with Baghdad in November of 2000, two years before the United Nations got involved. Our team started back channel talks to get Iraq’s agreement on the weapons inspections. And over the next fifteen months, my supervisor, Richard Fuisz (pronounced “fuse”), through talks at the Iraqi embassy, mostly with Iraq’s ambassador Dr. Sayeed Hassan, and with other senior Iraqi diplomats, on what conditions Iraq would have to accept in order to resume the weapons inspections. And at that point we had begun to develop a comprehensive peace framework which extended great support to anti-terrorism. Iraq agreed to let the FBI come into Baghdad and operate a task force that would have authority–this was before 9/11 ever happened! Nine months before 9/11 happened, Iraq agreed to have the FBI come into Baghdad with the authority to conduct terrorism investigations, interview witnesses, make arrests. After 9/11, Iraq agreed to give financial records on al-Qaeda to the United States. BUT the United states didn’t want to take the records.
Barrett
It makes you wonder why not.

Lindauer
Isn’t that an interesting question.

Barrett
It leads me to (my next question): You apparently had some kind of foreknowledge of 9/11. Can you explain to us what that was?

Lindauer
Yes. This is a very interesting thing, and I’m glad…I hope your audience will pay attention to this. We absolutely expected 9/11 to happen. And there’s a subtlety here that I hope your audience will appreciate. In April and May of 2001 I was summoned to my CIA handler’s office and told that I needed to confront the Iraqi diplomats at the United Nations, through my back channel, with a demand for any fragment of intelligence regarding airplane hijackings and/or airplane bombings. And over the summer, that progressed to a deep belief that there was going to be an airplane hijacking attack, and some sort of aerial strike, on the World Trade Center. We talked about this in our one-on-one meetings practically every week. Just so we are clear, this was not a one-time conversation. This was a major focus of our efforts. Richard (Fuisz, Lindauer’s CIA handler) was very worried about it, very agitated about it, how Iraq must give us this intelligence. Now, I don’t mean to patronize you, but I’m sure you’re familiar with the concept of deniability. I do not think that Richard Fuisz knew all the details of 9/11. However, he knew enough. My book Extreme Prejudice goes into the conversations that we had in great detail. And he knew the timing of the attack. By August 2001, Richard was telling me not to go into New York City because this attack was immanent. And on the day of FBI Director Robert Mueller’s confirmation hearings, which I think was August 2nd–in my book it’s very clear, I’ve checked all the dates–Richard Fuisz told me that the attack was immanent. And I said, well, I’m going up to New York to ask my Iraqi sources about this again. And he said “Don’t go to New York, it’s too dangerous, I don’t want you going there again.” And I said “I’m just going up this weekend, and I promise I will not go back to New York.” And that’s how close this was. They knew a great deal. And what was interesting is that after 9/11, I get arrested, and he gets thirteen million dollars in payoffs. (laughs)

Barrett
(laughing) Oh boy. That’s amazing. They arrested you, because they were probably concerned about you revealing the contents of your conversations with Richard, among other things.

Lindauer
Oh yes, absolutely. And the fact that there was a peace option on the table that had been developed over a two year period before the war, a comprehensive peace framework. It included cooperation on anti-terrorism; it included the weapons inspections, of course–you already knew that; and it included Iraq’s commitment to donate economic reconstruction–donate is not the right word–to dedicate economic reconstruction contracts to United States corporations with preferential treatment, preferential contracts in telecommunications, health care, pharmaceuticals, and transportation. This was a comprehensive peace framework! We covered everything! We covered a lot. And nobody even knows about this!

Barrett
That’s amazing. There have been general reports of this nature, including post-9/11, right up to the eve of the invasion, there have been reports that Saddam Hussein was willing to give the US basically everything it wanted to hold off the invasion.

Lindauer
Yes. Yes.

Barrett
That leads to the question: Why do you think, given that you recognize just how insane this invasion was, how completely unnecessary–the Iraqis were caving as far as they had to cave anyway–what was the point?

LindauerYes, literally, Iraq said to me: “What is it the United States wants? Anything that the United States asks for, we will give them. Just tell us what it is!” When I was on a trip to Baghdad, they offered to buy one million American-made automobiles every year for ten years. And (an Iraqi diplomat) said to me, “Look, Susan, if ten years isn’t enough, we’ll make it twenty years.”
Barrett
You know, Susan, you’re kind of ruining Saddam Hussein’s posthumous reputation as somebody who stood up to the U.S.!

Lindauer
He was more harsh on terrorists than we were.

Barrett
He didn’t get along with al-Qaeda, and he didn’t get along with Islamists of any kind, including the Iranians.

Lindauer
That’s right.

Barrett
You would have thought that the U.S. would have just kept running him as an American puppet. He got his start as a CIA hit man, apparently.

Lindauer
Yes indeed.

Barrett
So why, why this insane insistence on going to war with Iraq–a war that has killed one and a half million innocent Iraqis and destroyed that country. What was the purpose of it?

Lindauer
It was so incredibly stupid. And 9/11…9/11 could have been used at the start…9/11 was a tragedy, a terrible, terrible tragedy, but 9/11 could have accomplished great good. Because right after 9/11 Iraq went into high mode of giving. They were offering us everything we wanted: Financial records on al-Qaeda, proof of a Middle Eastern link to what we used to call the inter-Arab group of terrorists, which was actually an amalgamation of several different terrorist factions, coalesced into al-Qaeda. They were willing to prove that there was a Middle Eastern link to the Oklahoma City bombing and the first attack on the World Trade Center, and those included financial documents, bank records…we could have tracked the money that’s financing terrorism around the world. Instead what we do is, we create an enemy. Because it looks better–the politicians could go grandstand. As a former (CIA) asset I can assure you, they don’t actually do anything on terrorism. They give speeches. They go wave their hands in the parades. But they don’t do anything to contribute to anti-terrorism efforts. But the people have been fooled by their showmanship and their grandstanding and their spectacle. It’s like a circus performance now! In fact, before 9/11, there were 200 to 300 terrorists in the world who wanted to attack America. Now, after 9/11 and after the war in Iraq and after the war on Afghanistan, there are only about 2000 to 3000 individuals whose entire focus of life is revenge and coming into the United States and attacking us. That’s only 3000 people. The way I look at it, this is like a high school auditorium that you could fill with the potential terrorists. That’s it! This is an invention! We’ve made this up!

Barrett
Right. Very well put. I’ve often explained to people that there was no real terrorist threat pre-9/11, and that for every one person pre-9/11 who was bent on doing harm to the US, there must be a great many today, because of all the terrible things that have gone on since 9/11.

Lindauer
Yes.

Barrett
So the question then, is…is it just sheer total incompetence and stupidity and grandstanding and egotism–I’m sure all of that contributes to it, but—uh…well, frankly, Susan, my take on all of this is that 9/11 was a Mossad operation, that it was of course done through Cheney’s office. There were no hijackings. The guys that they blamed for it were not terrorists at all. They weren’t even on the planes. There is not a shred of evidence that any of these guys were on those planes, nor is there a shred of actual evidence that there were any hijackings. Instead, we had a military operation that was essentially a Zionist coup d’état by the Likkud faction that wanted to destroy Iraq so it would never be a threat to Israel. A prosperous Iraq, allied to the US, would actually be terrible for Israel. That’s why they wouldn’t take the deals that you were brokering. Care to comment?

Lindauer
I think that you are–I do believe in the hijackings, but I believe in everything else that you have just said. One of the things that came out right after 9/11: I’ve often been asked by people what my CIA handler Richard Fuisz’s source was for the 9/11 attack. And he told me briefly, he let it slip. Immediately after the attack, when we were all in a state of shock, he said to me…the first building had collapsed, but it was before the second building collapsed. This is a very important time frame. He made reference to video tape, which by the way was not released to the publi...il the next day, but right after 9/11 Richard Fuisz already knows about this video tape! Right after the attack–the first building has collapsed, the second one is still standing–and we’re both talking in the living room, we’re both shouting–I’m in my living room, he’s in his living room, and we’re shouting at the televisions–and he blurts out to me: “Susan, how many times do you think a camera is cued up waiting for a car accident to occur?” He said, “What do you think are the odds that those two people were just standing on the sidewalk with a video camera waiting patiently for the plane to hit the building?” And he said, “Those are Mossad agents. They knew that the World Trade Center was about to get hit, and they were waiting there for it to happen so they could record it and put it out in the media.” Now this is before it has even come out in the media. He identifies them as Mossad agents, and I believe–I’m convinced–that that was the source of our knowledge of al-Qaeda. But what you guys don’t know, which I will throw out to you, which comes out in my book, is that from April and May of 2001 onwards, Richard Fuisz instructed me to threaten the Iraqis with war. Now everybody assumes that the war stuff came after 9/11. But it didn’t. They had decided months before 9/11 ever happened that as soon as this attack occurred, this would be the motivation for the war. So they absolutely knew that this attack was coming. They knew that it was going to be in late August or September. And that opens up a whole new dynamic proving what you have just said: That it was a Mossad conspiracy, that there was complicity…maybe that’s a better word, complicity…I’m going to go a little softer on the language than you. Mossad complicity.

Barrett
I would argue that it’s a little more than complicity–that the demolitions of the three tallest buildings ever taken down in controlled demolitions required immense skill and military specialization and so on…

Lindauer
Oh yes, when I say complicity, I include that in it. Yes. I believe in the detonations. In fact…do I have time to tell you one story before break?

Barrett
Tell it, go for it.

Lindauer
While I was writing my book, I had a high-ranking State Department official, who has a very very high, top-top-top security classification, and I cannot name him for you because I don’t want to hurt his reputation. He’s close to retirement, he’s going to have a pension–they would crush him if he was ever exposed, I suspect. He thinks it too. He says that a couple of weeks before 9/11, at the end of August, for about two weeks, strange vans were arriving at the World Trade Center at three o’ clock in the morning. They were staying from about three o’ clock to about four-thirty or five. They were coming in for a brief period. And he swore to me that he personally had investigated the janitorial services, and he said “I know first hand how many employees the janitorial service had, what their trucks looked like, what their revenues were like, where they lived.” He said “we know the addresses.” We are confident that none of the people from the janitorial services were tied to these trucks. It had never happened before, it was a unique thing. This was not a constant thing like over a six month period. It was a strange anomaly right before (the attack on) the World Trade Center. And he was convinced that this was government-level thermite, government-level weapons, that had been put into either the stairwells or the elevator shafts. And he is convinced that this is when it happened.

I really think that the global warming needs some open debate. Regardless of whether it is human caused or not it has certainly fueled the search for new and cleaner technologies, and sustainable technologies. So, in a sense it is having a good impact and these advances in environmental technologies and applications should be continued even if climate change is not human caused. 

In any case, stifling dissent is not a good thing. I am for freedom of expression even if the viewpoint may go against the prevailing opinions especially if it is 30,000 scientists.

Is that what you want?  Well, it is exactly what the Senate of the United States is ready to hand to that generous, open-handed (at least to them!) Uber Cartel which bribes and controls them so that the US Senate is ready to do their bidding.  

I do not know about you, but I am ready for the Senate to do MY bidding.  They work for ME and it is their responsibility to protect and extend MY freedoms, not those of their corporate donors. 

Secret: the Senators to whom we are sending these emails in such large numbers do not read them.  But they tally them! That's what counts.  Give them something serious to tally.  Let's add another 250,000 emails to the ones we have already sent and make it a round million.

With group after group (we've lost count of how many now) taking action, writing what we have written (often just cutting and pasting from our blasts), the Senate is being beseiged, which is exactly what we want.  

So give thanksgiving for the fact that you still have the internet, still have the right to beseige your Senators and do it.  Now.  Then do it again for each member of your household.  And then write to everyone you can reach, call talk show hosts, write letters to the Editor and urge EVERYONE to click the freedom mouse over and over and over between now and the moment when we either save our country, our freedom, our food and, ultimately, our lives, or we do not.

There is no one else to whom the choice belongs.  It truly belongs to you and you alone.  Choose well.

The president of the World Bank, Robert Zoellick, wrote yesterday in a Financial Times article that leading world economies should consider “employing gold as an international reference point of market expectations about inflation, deflation and future currency values.”

         Thank you so much for your email regarding the use of the deadly mercury in the H1N1 vaccine and other injections given even to newborn babies with no regard to the long term neurological consequences and the damage that will be done to millions of families across our country and around the world.  I appreciate your need to do all you can for the reputation of the WTO, after their complete exposure as a fraudulent organization when they issued a pandemic alert of the highest level last year (level 6) in order to convince (or coerce) millions of people to take the toxic vaccines.

         As far as your reassurance that CDC and FDA have made sure these toxins are really good and healthy for us to inject into our bodies, thank you that makes me feel so much better.  I realize that as a busy senator, you have no spare time to waste on things like learning what the CDC and the FDA are, or that they are fully controlled by and take their orders from, the drug companies.  Later, when you are retired, perhaps you can take the time to study these things, instead of just repeating what you have been told.  If you eventually become honest, and perhaps develop a conscience, you will find that the current "health care" system, overseen and controlled by the respectable drug lords that you know as "pharmaceutical companies" has become the number two cause of death in American today (something like 750,000 deaths a year from "properly" used drugs).

Do Drug Firm Bribery Charges Implicate the U.S. FDA?

How can anyone have implicit faith in the science and products produced by BIG Pharma when The Wall Street Journal on October 5, 2010 featured the article “Drug Firms Face Bribery Probe” by Michael Rothfeld?
That question automatically should be followed with, “Will those charges also implicate the U.S. FDA?” Not knowing all the facts, but being of a suspicious nature, I’d say anything is possible given the long-term revolving door policy that seems to exist within government agencies, Big Pharma, and the chemical industry. Pat Buchanan Is Wrong About Islam

Much hoorah, there is, over the mosque that may or may not be built in New York. I don't give a tinker's damn (whatever precisely that may be; I presume that tinkers' oaths were thought more efficacious than others) whether they build it or not. The matter does however put to rest for me any hope of rationality in human affairs. This, I grant, could be accomplished with a very small bed.

At this writing, the government's war for oil and AIPAC has more or less solidly metamorphosed, among the rubes at least, into a war against Islam. Men of thunder and portent peddle the notion like starving encyclopedia salesmen. No less a political howitzer than Pat Buchanan says that the mosque should not be built, because of the religious motivation of the Saudis who attacked the towers. His view has been eagerly received by the populace. Now it seems that yahoos at some fourth-grade church in Florida plan to burn a Koran to commemorate 9/11.

Splendid, this. We are telling 1.3 billion Moslems that America is not fighting Al Qaeda, or the Taliban, or Terror. No. It is Islam itself we hate. How very wise. This will make it so much easier to win hearts and minds in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Those security forces that GIs are supposed to be training - the ones with the AKs - they will know that their trainers are their enemies. Curiously, this is just what bin Laden tells them.

Glands again trump minds, if any. Consider that ten minutes before the first tower got hit in New York, the thought had occurred to practically no one in America that Islam constituted a mortal threat to all that we hold holy, chiefly chain restaurants and iPods. But Islam afterwards offered to fill this void that the Russians had wimped out on. For a brief period after the implosion of the Soviet Union, Americans had no threat to worry about. They found it deeply puzzling. Weren't we supposed to be afraid of something? It didn't feel right.

Then came New York, and suddenly we saw it: The Clash of Civilizations. Islam was out to get us. Why hadn't we noticed? A roaring hatred for Moslems sprang up from people who had never met a Moslem, who had a garden slug's grasp of history. A deep satisfaction came over the land. We had been made whole again.

Battling Mohammedans quickly became an industry. The government at first tried to peddle Terrorism as the enemy, not Islam, but it didn't stick. Something more robustly flackable was wanted.

I find Buchanan, of the American Conservative, proclaiming that Islam is a Culture of Jihad, and most militant. No doubt. Very. Would it be poltroonish of me to note that just now Christian armies are busily annexing and wrecking Afghanistan and Iraq, having recently bombed Somalia? That they use robotic aircraft to murder Yemenis, that they hunt down Moslems in the Philippines (where after 1898 Americans engaged in atrocities that would win the admiration of the Japanese), encourage Israel to ruin Lebanon and to run a concentration camp for Moslems in Gaza, enthusiastically murder Pakistanis from the sky, and threaten Syria and Iran?

Those Moslems. Militant, they are. The bastards.

The Islamic countries listed above are only those currently attacked by America. Let us look at the matter in another way. I append here a list of all Christian countries conquered by militant Moslems since 1529:

Next, a partial list of Moslem countries conquered by Christians: Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Jordan, Iraq (the first time), Iraq (again), Iran, Pakistan, East Pakistan, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Yemen, Oman, Abu Dhabi, Dubai....

This list does not include such minor Christian conquests as North, South, and Central America, India, China, Southeast Asia, black Africa, and such. Unconscionable, Moslem aggressiveness is.

Buchanan regards the events of 9/11 as no end grievous. So do I. Yet perhaps people who live in glass pots and kettles shouldn't call names. The UN's figures give 600,000 Iraqi children dead because of the American embargo, which didn't allow, for example, chlorine to sterilize water. This is equivalent to 6.4 million dead children in the United States. Hmmm: If Moslems had killed this trifling number of our sprats, might we wax grumpish?

Yes, I know, the UN is a commie Marxist socialist anti-American conspiracy, and not as trustworthy as the American propaganda apparatus. All right. Let's assume that the UN lied by a factor of ten, and thus only 60,000 Iraqi children died thanks to us. Thus, if 3,000 Americans died in New York, we owe the Moslems some 57,000. No?

If I may sally briefly into unloved seriousness: What puzzles me, as one who has lived extensively abroad, is how little Americans are able to see things through the eyes of others, how little empathy they have (this latter defect being characteristic of both psychopaths and narcissists).

Consider a headline from Antiwar.com of a sort appearing almost daily: "US Drone Strike Destroys House Full of Children in Pakistan."

Apparently no one in the Great Rubber Room north of Mexico has an inkling why this might arouse hatred in Pakistanis. Can you imagine the fury that would ensue if a Moslem blew up a house full of American kids in, say, Queens? But when we kill their kids, no one cares. "Yeah, well. Tough. Giv'em a few dollars." Buncha dirty raghead larvae. No better than cockroaches, right?

Now, we're going to have a pop quiz. Take out a sheet of paper. Question: Can you think of any reason why Moslems might be unhappy with America?
Right! They hate our freedoms.

In which case they daily have less to hate us for.

It doesn't pay to underestimate an enemy, I hear. All right: Moslems are so very dangerous not just because of their many extremist groups - Salamists, Al Sushis, the Falafel, and the Wasabi for example - but because of their immense industrial strength, which doesn't exist. With the possible exception of Turkey, not one Islamic nation is in the First World. I picture bearded, turbaned warriors wading ashore on aquatic camels, causing no end of panic in Atlantic City. I mean, what do camels eat?

The horror.

Herewith a searing insight for the ever-puzzled State Department: Actions have consequences. If you support Batista, you will engender Fidel. If you support the Shah, you will get Khomeini. If you attack Moslems, you will get bin Laden. It might be better to stay home and read a book.

Apple Seeking to Patent Spyware Deeplink

It looks like Apple, Inc., is exploring a new business opportunity:
spyware and what we're calling "traitorware."  While users were
celebrating the new jailbreaking and unlocking exemptions, Apple was
quietly preparing to apply for a patent on technology that, among
other things, would allow Apple to identify and punish users who take
advantage of those exemptions or otherwise tinker with their devices.
This patent application does nothing short of providing a roadmap for
how Apple can, and presumably will, spy on its customers and control
the way its customers use Apple products. As Sony-BMG learned, spying
on your customers is bad for business. And the kind of spying enabled
here is especially creepy, it's not just spyware, it's "traitorware,"
since it is designed to allow Apple to retaliate against you if you do
something Apple doesn't like.

Essentially, Apple's patent provides for a device to investigate a
user's identity, ostensibly to determine if and when that user is
"unauthorized," or, in other words, stolen.  More specifically, the
technology would allow Apple to record the voice of the device's user,
take a photo of the device's user's current location or even detect
and record the heartbeat of the device's user.  Once an unauthorized
user is identified, Apple could wipe the device and remotely store the
user's "sensitive data."  Apple's patent application suggests it may
use the technology not just to limit "unauthorized" uses of its phones
but also shut down the phone if and when it has been stolen.

However, Apple's new technology would do much more. This patented
device enables Apple to secretly collect, store and potentially use
sensitive biometric information about you. This is dangerous in two
ways: First, it is far more than what is needed just to protect you
against a lost or stolen phone.  It's extremely privacy-invasive and
it puts you at great risk if Apple's data on you are compromised. But
it's not only the biometric data that are a concern. Second, Apple's
technology includes various types of usage monitoring, also very
privacy-invasive. This patented process could be used to retaliate
against you if you jailbreak or tinker with your device in ways that
Apple views as "unauthorized" even if it is perfectly legal under
copyright law.

Here's a sample of the kinds of information Apple plans to collect:
The system can take a picture of the user's face, "without a flash,
any noise, or any indication that a picture is being taken to prevent
the current user from knowing he is being photographed"; The system
can record the user's voice, whether or not a phone call is even being
made; The system can determine the user's unique individual heartbeat
"signature"; To determine if the device has been hacked, the device
can watch for "a sudden increase in memory usage of the electronic
device"; The user's "Internet activity can be monitored or any
communication packets that are served to the electronic device can be
recorded"; and The device can take a photograph of the surrounding
location to determine where it is being used.

In other words, Apple will know who you are, where you are, and what
you are doing and saying and even how fast your heart is beating. In
some embodiments of Apple's "invention," this information "can be
gathered every time the electronic device is turned on, unlocked, or
used." When an "unauthorized use" is detected, Apple can contact a
"responsible party." A "responsible party" may be the device's owner,
it may also be "proper authorities or the police."

Apple does not explain what it will do with all of this collected
information on its users, how long it will maintain this information,
how it will use this information, or if it will share this information
with other third parties.  We know based on long experience that if
Apple collects this information, law enforcement will come for it, and
may even order Apple to turn it on for reasons other than simply
returning a lost phone to its owner.

This patent is downright creepy and invasive, certainly far more than
would be needed to respond to the possible loss of a phone. Spyware,
and its new cousin traitorware, will hurt customers and companies
alike, Apple should shelve this idea before it backfires on both it
and its customers.
